We are in Nashville, Tennessee, for today's new music in review. Rock duo The Criticals are walking in the footsteps of bands like Jane's Addiction, The Stone Roses, and The Doors. Their mission is to be all about the energy and that's what they've achieved with great press already rolling in. Only formed in 2018, their fresh sound and inspiring image is just what we need.


It begins with a snappy drum-beat. Slicing snare and kick bounce us along as a guitar begins to strum a melodic chord. Lyrics begin, poetic lyrics with quick melodic syllables riff along with the rock'n'roll rhythm. A bass with a crunching distortion adds a new layer of tune that rumbles in a thumping underlay. The dynamic and fast-progressing structure builds up with varying degrees of energy and sensation, each time leading us into a seriously catchy chorus.
