How I Feel
After graduating in art and leaving Lagos for Louisiana, Curry Spicer has made a musical world for himself. Taking his afro-influenced beats and mixing them into malleable RnB, Curry Spicer has already released a classic EP named Pocking Feelings. Since then, he's been working on a ground-breaking new album. As an independent artist without external backing, it's always going to be a long uphill road to a stable career. Curry Spicer is no different, and his work demonstrates that unique blend of talent, skill, and experience which creates something built to last.
With manic synths that drop in tone like a dubstep tune, the music begins and Curry Spicer begins to rap. His nouns and verbs break across rhythmic pin-points of sound. The synth builds and flows with a drum-beat infused with crackles and clapping hands. As the chorus progresses, melody gives the vocal an extra sense of dynamic. We head back to the verse, the adjectives and clauses again swoop over choppy waves made of synthesiser and drums. The drum n bass element is in continual motion while a bluesy side manifests in the vocal delivery. Catchy, provocative, and with layers of hook, How I Feel is like a roller-coaster of free-flowing feelings.
