It's with great pleasure that Alternative Fruit features Aberdeen's award winning alt-folk rock musician, Colin Clyne. Produced by the great Alan Sanderson who's worked with The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Ryan Adams, and Fiona Apple, the song reminisces on times gone by where Colin worked on old boats. The music is written from a frame of mind where vessels of long journeys and heavy responsibility lay their bow for the last time. Where once was a proud piece of maritime engineering, now sits a decrepit hulk that's oozing with fluids and rust. There's a lot of symbology in ships, they can mean so many things.


The music begins with a powerful strumming guitar. Electric wails decorate the sidings as the mountain of well-used steel looms into view. Cellos or violins, maybe both, and twangs of electric power-chord bring out a fascinating feel from the basis of acoustic guitar. The lyrics build in verses that fill with energy as the composition builds up into new choral skies. Keyboards fill backing harmonies as melodic twiddles on each instrument dance and commute from base to base.


This song has had so much love already, with a huge build-up and press following, it's no surprise there's another treat in store. Colin Clyne has commissioned a limited edition beer from Reid's Gold. This Stonehaven brewery has created a fruity and delicious solution to thirst that no doubt tastes good with folk music. This supergroup of Outlaw Country Rockers made up from established and well—known Americana musicians are hitting the airwaves with their collaborative sounds. Members of this band have written with and played alongside folks such as Ashley Campbell, Chas Sanford, Eddie Heinzelman and David Mindel. This jacuzzi of vibrant talent clearly can't help but bubble up music as naturally as waking up in the morning, or is that the afternoon?


The music begins with a crash of guitar, followed by a smooth and upbeat drumbeat. Distorted chords ring over the steady bars as the vocal line begins. Knowing this intuition was a sign of things to come, the pair began writing and performing together. The result is a brilliant sound that makes use of great musical ability and vocal prowess.


The music begins with a spacious synthesiser that creates a groovy vibe in the stereo arena. A guitar begins strumming chords with jazzy inflections to a funky beat. The rhythm is struck by a clever drum beat, throwing splashy beats down in well-timed and intelligent formations. We're headed back home to England today for a trip down to The Rivers Of England. Their recent track, Late Night, Heavy Rain, Waiting For A Train, is in review today. This folk ballad and blues band from the UK are well known for their cool delivery and quality multi-instrumental compositions. The band have described the work as the simplest yet most difficult song of theirs to date. The entire recording process took several days and nights which resulted in the best version absolutely possible.


The music starts with an upbeat guitar riff. Energetic chords twang and rumble with a static distortion. Vocals begin, sliding notes jostle along bluesy lines as catchy riffs build and roll with the approachable drums. Harmonisations with distinctive chord progressions repeat in hook laden sections as the song takes us from post to post.
