The Living Envy The Dead
From Prepare For Battle

Los Angeles heavy metal band Powertribe make their debut for Alternative Fruit. Since 2015 this band has been tearing up the road to bring their sound to people all over the world. Social media and live performance have both been instrumental in their success. They've even shared the stage with rock icons Quiet Riot. Comprised of Darren Stroud on guitar and Missy Percifield on bass and vocals, these two had been working together in other bands before. Next came John Chominsky on drums to finish the three piece. Experimenting with prog-rock, they all had much more fun when the volume was turned up to maximum. Together they now make loud and in your face heavy metal with top quality skills and virtuoso talent. Each member has a unique set of influences that brings jazz, rock, and metal to the table. This meal of music is served up to all of us in a unique and professionally blended style.

The song begins on an uplifting guitar melody combined with surging chords and drums. The pace is pushed up a gear and the music shoots into the air. Melodic and crunchy, the rhythms pound down like hail stones while the whipping winds take on the mask of the guitar. Missy starts singing, her story-telling vocals wail and build over the ferocity of the music. At first the lyrics probe and push, looking for somewhere to settle, then they progress into melodic and free flowing syllables which ride on the push of the beat. Chorus lines soar as if on eagle's wings, huge pieces of natural geology circling past as we glide through the heavy metal landscape. Excellent skills and an amazing energy bring a fantastic sound that touches on so many legends. Expect to hear Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Dragon Force, and a whole host of European power-metal bands whose names we can't pronounce hiding behind this compositional theme. Arms in the air, hair down, and put your boots on, this music breaks boundaries.
