Candice Time For Me London based singer-songwriter Candice is here with a brand new single. This talented song-writer and vocalist recently put a band together in order to perform at a headline London event. Wooing crowds in every venue, the city and its neighbours are quickly becoming fans of this soulful artist. Now with a brand new single, which is getting radio play around the globe, it seems as if very little can get in her way. Inspired by greats such as Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey, the passion and sensuality of these fronting females undoubtedly lives on in Candice. With piano and drum, the music begins with a smooth and laid back beat. Candice starts singing, her voice is full of flavour and warmth. She spills her heart across the musical bars like delicate paint drops from an expert's brush. Extra composition begins to build, new elements of percussion rise over the lush rhythms. Organ sounds elevate Candice as her song journeys and spins stories of love coming to an end. We so often focus so much on another person that we forget who we really are. G. E. Holliday
Vampire Wedding From 808 Vampire Growing up in the 90s and getting into trouble in school all the time has led G. E. Holliday down an interesting path. Living in Atlanta's housing projects had given Holliday a rebellious and non-conformist streak which didn't gain productive focus until he discovered music. Trying his hand at college, G. E. Holliday made his first effort to straighten out with the help of tutors and coursework. This didn't work out too well, so he took another direction. Becoming his own master, and driving himself in any direction that felt right, the final output became 808 Vampire. The single, Vampire Wedding, is out now. A groovy beat saunters along the lines of a bluesy guitar. G. E. Holliday starts to sing. His voice carries a unique and friendly atmosphere while the vocals hit each note perfectly. A twisted love song, full of sensuality and soul delicately paints itself across the airwaves. Flashy guitar licks spray colourful paints into the air while a Prince style funk maintains a cool and smooth delivery. Catch up with G. E. Holliday on Facebook and Instagram Prefer to study at home? Shade Aman
Never Forget It's pronounced Sha-day Ah-man, and she's been a backing vocalist for P. Diddy, Take That, and Diana Ross. Now with her established solo career in tow, Shade is being propelled into the spot-light for her own genuine abilities. With a jazz inspired soul direction, this acoustic artist from London sits comfortably in a niche that's accessible to fans from across the board. Her recent album, Travelling Hopefully, is already being enjoyed around the world. This new single is letting her sound out into the open on several radio networks and no doubt more on the way. As Yaz would say, the only way is up. The music starts on a shiny acoustic guitar beat. A sleek and evocative melody twiddles along before Shade begins to sing. A chorus of brass-wind elevates the sound of her voice as the lyrics poetically tell the story. Sometimes we have people in our lives that make such a big impression that we remember them for life. This song points to those people and sings a song to celebrate them. We have to cherish people who are a good influence on our lives, and let them know that we appreciate them. The bluesy and cabaret delivery in the vocal matches a smooth and groovy march through easy going bars. The Raz Band
Breadline Love Power pop, punk, and rock n roll combine for a full on sound capable of supporting the likes of Iron Butterfly, Bill Ward, Marky Ramone, Badfinger, and Berlin, comes in the shape of The Raz Band. The thirty five year veterans of the music scene are ready to push on with yet more quality material. From their LA base to the rest of the world, The Raz Band let Breadline Love out into the open. Taken from their ninth album, the song makes use of their attitude and ability to create catchy music once more. With juicy blues electric guitar, the music opens on a head-moving riff. A fantastic rock n roll beat drives the track as a gruffly spoken vocal puts a burst of masculine energy over the top. Melted in the mix to create a smooth flow, tuneful guitars, snapping drums and crashing breaks, the vocal-line penetrates like a horse over small fences. When the music swings over to the middle eight, a flashy guitar solo breaks off from the repeating riffs to decorate the bars with extra musical garnish. It's a song about taking our power back when someone isn't giving their fair share. Airport Impressions
Standing There Out 4th October We're extremely fortunate to be able to bring you an exclusive music review from Malta's headline band Airport Impressions. Playing to tens of thousands of people and winning the national Battle of the Bands has rocketed this great act into international stardom. Their new single is out next month and it's a real classic already. Written to celebrate the love between people who support each other, people who maintain a stable energy in our lives, the track is called Standing There. Life is difficult and for those who dive head first into theirs, getting lost or weathered down takes a supporting lift from friends and family who care. The music starts with a wailing note which becomes cushioning for a guitar melody. A plucked chord brings a place for the lyrics to sit and they fall in line almost straight away. Storyline lyrics create an image in our mind of a beacon, someone we can rely on to inspire us and move us forward. A progression builds, drums add new perspectives of tempo as they evolve and journey to reach a quick stepping rock beat. A great couple of lines makes up a simple chorus while the melody of the words twirls around and around in self-similar verses. The passion of the track builds with each bar and when it's over we feel a lot higher than before. A mood lifter and a great sing-a-long number, Standing There by Airport Impressions is well worth a listen. The Innocent Bystanders
No Place To Go Rock and Soul from San Diego today on Alternative Fruit. Since supporting The Rolling Stones, this California music project has made big news with their debut EP. Attractive Nuisance hit all the right notes in all the right places making it a firm favourite in the new music section. Now with a brand new record in the making, the band can't help but demolish the silence with a brand new single from the sessions so far. With a reputation for bending the rules over backwards until they point in your face, this band really do bring their genre back to life. A warm steel string guitar brings the opening chords and a sleek drumbeat catches the wind. Drifting out to sea, a saxophone casts its magical melody in order to warm up the vocal. Heartfelt and meaningful verse lines are threaded through the silk like a red ribbon, lustrous and embroidered with experience. A culmination of melody and instrumentation bring out a full-on flavour which holds back on spice yet reaches into each aspect. A rock n roll groove not dissimilar to Meatloaf gives a heartbeat to the composition while a Polyphonic Spree style medley of talents shoot like fireworks into a deep navy sky. Carefree and ungrounded, we can drift, swing, or drill to this catchy tune. Rozalla
Turn On The Light Those of you lucky enough to be my senior will likely remember when Rozalla made it into the UK Top 10 pop charts with Every Body's Free (To Feel Good). Getting noticed in a big way led her to a supporting slot for none other than Michael Jackson (signed stuff here). She helped him put on a fantastic show for 43 dates during his Dangerous tour, including Wembley Arena! So much has happened in the past thirty years, but one thing has stayed the same, Rozalla has continued to make music and once more she's putting songs out into the world for us all to enjoy. Since dancing with Al Pacino at a film premiere, and hitting the U.S. Dance charts in a really big way, it's about time we got a dose of Rozalla on this side of the Atlantic. Alternative Fruit is more than happy to report on this great artist. It starts with a vibrant orchestral flow of music and drums. Rozalla sings and charts her words across the luxurious beat. Soulful blues lyrics dance across the happy step flux of the tune while guitars, bass, and synth hits smash down in funky and liquid progressions. Fills on the bass guitar pluck groovy lines around the round-about lyrics which swirl us around in a pattern that only the song truly knows. Listen enough and we'll no doubt learn it by heart. It's such a fun and up-beat track that fills us with a sense of optimism and desire to be more than we imagine. Great stuff. Castle Black
Know Me Anyway From Dead In A Dream EP New York rockers Castle Black return with yet more killer music. Previously mentioned in Alternative Fruit in 2018, this three piece with super-stars in their eyes have recently worked with Mark Plati. He is on David Bowie's list of credits. The New York Music Daily have featured Castle Black and it's been said that this is a band we have to “catch on the way up”. Hopefully, if we hold on tight enough, they'll drag us up behind them! With wailing guitars on feedback and string bends, the music opens out like a passionflower. A strummed chord pattern unfolds to fit neatly across the abstract notes. Psychedelic effects give the vocal line a distorted and compressed sound that lends a space-rock angle. Chunky guitars rage in, a new edge of distorted and slightly chaotic and punchy riffage stampedes into the scene. Catchy lines swagger with up-beat and hard-hitting chord progressions. “You Don't Know Me Anyway” gets repeated over and over until the music capsizes in on itself into silence. You can visit Castle Black online on Facebook and Instagram Buy the music from Bandcamp P.s. Always get your concert and events tickets from here for the best online prices! |
