We are in Nashville today to catch a glimpse of Chloe Collins' new single. Already featured on Alternative Fruit and on national TV as part of ABC's The Vineyard and CBC's Nashville, Miss Collins is back like never before with yet more great sounding compositions. This latest one, Didn't Want You, continues on the thread of mixing her ideas with feels from Ed Sheeran's quirky style with Taylor Swift's inventive lyrics. Balancing the direction with multiple layers of creativity really helps to define Chloe Collins as a true country artist.
A digitally edged drumbeat opens the track before a smooth guitar peels open the chords. Chloe Collins starts singing, her words are like a story describing a moral dilemma. She knows that the person she is with still has feelings for someone who rejected them. In a bipolar escapism from the truth of separation, clinging on helps to dull the pain. Telling ourselves that it will be back to normal soon is rejecting the truth in the present moment. Can we look into Chloe Collins' eyes and not want her completely? She makes a great point.
