The Maltese melodic rock scene owes its recent major boost to these guys, Airport Impressions. Their break-through sound nods at several greats yet imitates none. Fans of Mumford and Sons, The Killers, and Kings of Leon may well find themselves hooked on their catchy compositions. With audience numbers reaching into the tens of thousands at their most recent shows, it's amazing that Airport Impressions haven't made it big elsewhere yet. Since Alternative Fruit has been made aware of this great act, it's a pleasure to send them on their way.
The song begins at the beach. A great rhythmic melody pushes in, breaking off the waves with its own variety. Piano and drums merge in a river of sound while the vocals begin. As the guitar enters with a warm distortion, the gracefully strummed chords echo the atmosphere of the melody. Pressure builds and the song builds in intensity. The song is about feeling good about our direction, with positive attitudes and hard working effort, we will always get somewhere other than where we are now. It's a love song, it's a motivational song, it's a feel good number that makes us feel good about who we are in the present moment.
