This extremely well-travelled singer and actress left Greece many years ago to spend time in Berlin. It's then been almost ten years since Anatoli Tsampa moved to London, where she now works and lives. She's listened to and enjoyed many styles of music across all kinds of genres over the years. This has all been put together to form her own personal sound. Singing about people who happen to meet in the big city, where we all have our own stories, Only A Stranger tells a story of its own.


It begins on a sombre piano melody. The keys spill over the bars in flurries like dappled light. Anatoli begins singing, her voice is beautiful and she captivates us with the first verse. Excellent range with heart-felt and meaningful words combine with her gifted skill to deliver a magical song. Drums realise their place after a short while and the song evolves into a vibrant swagger. New motion and feels enter the composition. The evolution continues into a pinnacle with harmonising vocals. When someone means something to us in a sea of individuals, even a social media request doesn't mean we'll get the connection we want. Be braver.
