Way Of Life (Featuring Waltzz)
TBR: 4th May
Lydia Singer continues her ascent into super-stardom with her brand new single Way Of Life (Featuring Waltzz). The childhood singing competition winner and three time club charts top twenty artist, hip-hop rapper Lydia looks forward to her second smash of 2018. No stranger to radio, Lydia's music has been played around the UK on various FM stations. She also performed on television to an audience spanning 79 nations. Can it get any better for this fresh faced achiever? It certainly feels like it will.
A twinkling introductory phrase brings in plucked strings which create a buoyant backdrop for the soaring vocal talent Lydia lays down in confident style. Waltzz adds masculine vibes in the form of vocalised inflections and emotive sounds. Songbird style lyrics warble and wave over bass driven thumping riffs. When it's time to swap over, Waltzz brings in his specific style of rhythmic poetry that furies and muses in a expertly balanced portions.
The story line of the song expresses a sense of loyalty, with a catchy line “I've always got your back”. It makes me feel safer, even though she's not singing about me. I can relate though, and I have got people's backs too. Waltzz adds an element of frustration to the plot, and although open and not shy of tension, remains within the theme of acceptance and respect. The track takes great dancing beats with heavy bass and adds it to well crafted songwriting to make something worth listening to several times over. Highly enjoyable and hungry to be mixed, maybe this will find its way onto a 2018 best of clubland album on its way home.
