Jimmy Hennessy
Busker Man

This Anglo-Irish compendium of Celtic culture leaves a huge following in his wake. Millions of views adorn his previous online releases thanks to a contract with a major record label. Now taking the lesser walked path, Jimmy reveals his true inner self, free from the constraints of all interested parties. Born in London, schooled in the ROI, and then with a homecoming at the age of twenty, Jimmy Hennessy has seen both sides of the equation and stands confident with both feet each side of the water.

I like this song already, with a large part of my job being busking (albeit on the digital high street), hearing someone singing about the life of a person who relies on that rare substance that is good will and care, makes my embers glow. If you have a talent and you can use it to improve people's lives, then you deserve to walk its path. If you do it well enough, it'll be worth everyone's while, including your own.

The song begins with a strong vocal, pressing and melodious. Jimmy sings about the busker, about how although he may look dishevelled and have strange priorities, yet he's free inside. With happy sing-a-long chorus sections of dum-dah-dee-dohs, and a great story line involving emotions all creative people can take heed from, the song rings out like a dancing folk inspired one-man and his epic tale opus. We know busking doesn't make us millionaires, and if we're happy to be in it for the love then it's great. I wonder what would happen to that busker man if he took up a free course in digital marketing? Having a stall is more profitable than an open guitar bag. Having both is the best of both worlds.
