Since performing at the London 2012 Olympics as a solo performer, Sharam Gill has toured extensively around America and the United Kingdom. Now fronting a new band Sharam Gill brings us Cox McQueen. Basing the sound on a parody of the Glam Rock scene in the 1960's and 70's, the whole album tells the story of how rock n' roll and the love of fame drove Cox further and further along a crazy adventure. Things are looking good for Cox McQueen, it's already been stated that the band could easily make it into international stardom.


Smooth tones open the music with saxophone and slippery bass, giving us a feeling of the silky and the dreamlike. Pleasant vocals ripple over the notes in melodic curls and as the progression raises the gear, a rock and punchy feel of space-age fantasy and epicness brings the energy higher. The Flaming Lips come to mind as I hear this, however with the Wolverhampton home town, there is a distinctive English sound that points in the direction of Bowie. It's got a fabulous feel with a fun and entertaining framework, allowing the song to be sung and enjoyed. It can be sung along to quite easily and it's definitely telling me the album is going to be awesome.
