Dead Manifest
Blood Since their conception ten years ago, Dead Manifest have risen from the underground like an invasive species with an ever increasing appetite for the established sound. Guitarist Aaron Nestor knows all about taking things seriously, he's even acquired an autographed ex-Wolfmother guitar. This legendary six-string was played by the exulted Andrew Stockdale. This memento from the top-leagues has given the band an extra level of inspiration to achieve. Perhaps superstitious, perhaps psychological, probably both, Blood was written to unleash the unforgiving power of the Dead Manifest. The music begins with a heavy bass-line. It sloshes around with loose-string thunder before drums and guitar add their firmness. The music rises with heavy chops and pounding rhythm. A heavy-metal hardcore vocal begins with screamo style elocution. The riffs thicken as the chorus reveals a duo of clean voice and growling anger. Pounding drums and thrusting guitar form a torrent of heavy-metal power that carries itself in a way we can recognise. DaRil
1,2,3. Let's go to Louisiana so we can listen to the latest single from DaRil. The name is taken from a dream the artist once had, although he is yet to disclose any other details. After enjoying lots of radio-play across many stations and hearing his music used in a few high-performing adverts, 1,2,3 takes us to the next stage in the artist's development. This award-winning hip-hop star has been described as inspirational and infectious so what are we waiting for? It begins with harmonica and drums, then rap begins to swagger through. Moseying through town on a steady horse, DaRil paces the track with an even beat. Bass and funky drums build a layer of rhythm which scaffolds melodic loops and a poetic lyrical flow. A repeating chorus which hits us with an array of rhyming floats in between choppy verses which break off into chapter like story-telling. The catchy and hook-laden music takes us from start to finish with a smooth and catchy progression. You can find out more on DaRil's website You can follow DaRil on Facebook and Instagram. Version Xcursion
Follow System Echo Recordings Lee Castle, now under the moniker Version Xcursion, has been synonymous with the UK Trip-hop and Bass scene since its early days. Originally from Bristol, the home of many established trip-hop acts, Version Xcursion now resides in Toronto where his music is a generative import. Headlining a radio-show of the same name, Version Xcursion now stands among an army of fans who, like him, adore the grooves and feelings within his chosen genre. It begins with a swelling of deep and shimmering sound. A rhythm crackles through with quick hats springing in time to what is yet to come. A smooth guitar and bass then push forward before extra drums layer in. Vocals smoothly seep in like syrup on cake as it crumbles. Stylish grooves plunge the energy onward as laid-back rhythms reflect with gleams of dancing shine. Jazz sensations run through the vocal delivery as sultry syllables slide over cool as ice bass and kick. Lullaby (I'll Be There) Out: 16th January Waterford musical prodigy Mark Duggan returns with one more sparkling composition. This time we turn the clock back to Bowie-esque mixing and a 1970s glam that presents in the delivery as well as in the central idea. With influences ranging from Joni Mitchel, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan (follow the links for rare signed goodies), this Waterford resident takes the old with the new for a truly distinguished sound. The music begins with a chiming guitar progression that tinkles along with homely keyboards and a smooth drumbeat. Wavery effects shimmer like sunshine on tarmac as the verse bursts into being. Mark Duggan begins singing, the Bowie style delivery really hits home. We know it's not David but it sounds like him. A nostalgia works in harmony with novel intrigue which juxtapose in waltzing time. A passionate and dreamy sensation builds as the music progresses, as Mark Duggan cosies up with comforting vibes. This short yet memorable track is a songwriting house-burner and yet also reaches out to a specific crowd who, like me, enjoy folky and abstract music. Ugobam Eddie (feat. Dennisha)
God's Way Recorded at the world-famous SAFO Music Group studios, Nigerian born UK artist presents God's Way. If there's one thing we can tell about the cause of the universe is that it loves balance. Balance is another word for justice, and that reminds me of concepts like karma and forgiveness, yin and yang, alpha and omega. I wonder how Ugobam Eddie puts it? Let's listen to his song and find out. The music begins with Dennisha, her beautiful voice decorates the soundwaves. Then, Ugobam Eddie begins with a hard-hitting rap. He then goes on to describe all the ways he knows God. This is his personal experience and one which no-one can take away. We see wisdom in the world around us and when it touches us we can know that there is more to it than random chance. This guy knows his bible, you could argue that no-one knows the bible better than the devil but it's clear in Ugobam Eddie's energy that he truly loves the words. A great spiritual song that doesn't preach or condone, it just explains from a respectable perspective. You can follow Ugobam Eddie on Facebook |
