Lee Castle, now under the moniker Version Xcursion, has been synonymous with the UK Trip-hop and Bass scene since its early days. Originally from Bristol, the home of many established trip-hop acts, Version Xcursion now resides in Toronto where his music is a generative import. Headlining a radio-show of the same name, Version Xcursion now stands among an army of fans who, like him, adore the grooves and feelings within his chosen genre.


It begins with a swelling of deep and shimmering sound. A rhythm crackles through with quick hats springing in time to what is yet to come. A smooth guitar and bass then push forward before extra drums layer in. Vocals smoothly seep in like syrup on cake as it crumbles. Stylish grooves plunge the energy onward as laid-back rhythms reflect with gleams of dancing shine. Jazz sensations run through the vocal delivery as sultry syllables slide over cool as ice bass and kick.
