It's Good To Know

Having read a damning article in the Guardian today, claiming education is only for the privileged few, sniffing at the concept of a person without huge financial backing getting any where near to a high level career, it is my intention to put the record straight. People like the author of this Guardian article are afraid. They're afraid that regular people like you and me, are just as clever, just as able, and just as capable as they are. Feeling better than others is an essential part of maintaining a narcissistic personality. Writing abusively, like that article, only serves to promote the bigoted opinion that education is for the few.
I am very pleased that free and discount courses are being given away, and I am extremely pleased that the correct computing equipment (in the mentioned case, iPads) are being dished out. Sheffield in particular is mentioned as being one of the institutes providing that all important ladder. If you get an opportunity to study for a discounted price, or for free, remember that it is the work you do in learning which is the real price. The money is not really an issue, how much you gain from your study is relative to how much work is put in. Please feel free to take one free course from a world leading provider of real life education in modern skills. It's not a Master's degree but it will look great on your CV. |
