It's Good To Know

Getting the big degree with letters and a nice square hat does wonders for our job prospects. It's a known fact of life that many of the best paying jobs offer placements to graduates only, and then they want graduates from schools that have known and respected names.
Course fees are rocketing into astronomical proportions, and rising still as the years roll past. The exclusivity of the qualification into affluence and career stability is becoming clearer. With many students feeling that their particular degree isn't likely to earn a pay large enough to pay their debts, only those select few with high grade qualifications in big city work are likely to achieve financial freedom. There must be another way, and surely we can look at the principles in a closer detail. What does the degree actually say? It shows dedication and ability to learn. It also says that this person is able to carry out complex learning while living an independent life. The school will distinguish between those who want to be high fliers and those who want to just do something good with their lives. Oxbridge degrees tend to land much better paid jobs. There is a reason for this, the institutions have a long established tradition of excellence. They only choose the highest achieving students and then push them beyond the scale of other schools. How can we compete, if this path of further education is not available to us? We can show that we can do the same things, and demonstrate with our experience that we too have done all the things a student may have done. Even attaining skills from top schools is a matter of applying, and although shorter and online, this lowers delivery costs to a minimum yet carries that same brand of school which we know works so well. As an artist will produce a portfolio of their work to show a natural progression and a demonstration of artistic ideals, a future employee can show a similar array of things on the curriculum vitae, and express ability in many areas if they take the steps to gain it. An independent self guided education and involvement in life situations beyond that of the home and friends is a powerful element of what being a student is about, this matters and shows employers that the person is capable. We too can show this, with the correct life experience and skill sets. Not being able to take part in the one side of life that costs money to do does not mean that we do not have equal ability to go and take things into our own hands and get the right skills and life experience that really matters and in the long run could potentially wipe a newly graduated person away with simple logic of choice, but that would always be a matter for the employer to make the decision. Our job as willing and capable people is to not let societies little gaps stand in our way. Go for the scholarship, go for the funded option, or just go and do it all yourself and prove it on paper with everything you do for yourself. It's the time taken that matters most.
More people are turning to their mobile devices to consume their media, and this is because they can deliver every element in one scrolling interface. No more switching books, papers, and magazines. The button and the thumb swipe have taken command of our self induced mental stimulation. There will always be a special place for paper in people's hearts, and the well made book will never go out of fashion, however as more media turns to the internet to flagship their presence in the world, as each new generation turns to world affairs, the mobile becomes increasingly the object of choice.
Check out these recent insights into the mobile digital consumer market, it's a lot to sift through but the trends are almost set in stone.
What does this mean for the consumer? In short it means that if we have access to the internet, we stand equal to speak our own ideas and personal thoughts about anything we choose, diluting the ultra concentrated flow of ideals which torrent down the paper-chain from the selected few at the top. Because we no longer need to provide printed copies of everything we do, the delivery and production costs of our own media are slashed to a fraction of what they used to be. There is still a great deal of work to do in order to make it in the media scene, be it with books, or with journalism, or with something in between, acquiring skills and confidence is a process of time, effort, and practice.
The course shown above is ideal for those who want to move into blogging and journalism with a goal of making a living from doing so. It is not a short cut but it will demonstrate the level of work required and then help students to feel adequate in their own abilities. A leg up into a blogging career. Of course, to have a blog, we need a website. This article is on how to go about getting a website.
If writing passions and fascinations is interesting, the market is always eager for well written accounts of subjects that have an injection of love and affection from their author. Making sure we get that across in our words is a skill to hone.
Going all out to create a writing career that commands a high pay will usually require an element of high business skill, and so the language needs to be slightly different.
For most of us, it has been a while since we had a teacher mark our work with the red pen of doom, and so it's highly likely that we have all picked up some non-useful habits that could be clipped down for when we need the big guns.
The above course is designed to polish off all the rough edges in a comprehensive and methodical way, leaving students more confident and capable than before, to produce glittering writing for any format.
Finally, we all do love a good book, and most of us all fancy the idea of writing one. There is nothing standing in anyone's way but their own abilities, and these can be sharpened with effort. This last course is one for anyone who is looking at working with Kindle or any of the other ebook distributors that welcome self published work.
Once everything is in place, and the confidence has set in, the work is almost done. The next step is to get the word out there.
Having read a damning article in the Guardian today, claiming education is only for the privileged few, sniffing at the concept of a person without huge financial backing getting any where near to a high level career, it is my intention to put the record straight. People like the author of this Guardian article are afraid. They're afraid that regular people like you and me, are just as clever, just as able, and just as capable as they are. Feeling better than others is an essential part of maintaining a narcissistic personality. Writing abusively, like that article, only serves to promote the bigoted opinion that education is for the few.
I am very pleased that free and discount courses are being given away, and I am extremely pleased that the correct computing equipment (in the mentioned case, iPads) are being dished out. Sheffield in particular is mentioned as being one of the institutes providing that all important ladder. If you get an opportunity to study for a discounted price, or for free, remember that it is the work you do in learning which is the real price. The money is not really an issue, how much you gain from your study is relative to how much work is put in. Please feel free to take one free course from a world leading provider of real life education in modern skills. It's not a Master's degree but it will look great on your CV. |
