Chloe Collins - Someone's Yesterday | Alternative Fruit
Chloe Collins
Someone's Yesterday

It's great to be featuring Chloe Collins on Alternative Fruit again. Her brilliant and brand new single Someone's Yesterday is hitting the airwaves and streaming all over the place. Since she was very small, Chloe Collins has been a fantastic performance artist. Singing before she started school and learning guitar before she was in double figures, this young lady has a lifetime of experience already. With her songs featured on TV in the States, it's no surprise that Chloe Collins has a growing following. Inspired by early Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, expect the intelligent and memorable.

Layers of guitar and drum bring out a smooth and vibrant theme before Chloe begins to sing. One mention of Texas and we understand where she's coming from. Progressive melody and emotional prowess evolves the music through verse to chorus though evocative guitar and sunny keyboards. Once bitten twice shy sensations describe the feeling of learned heartbreak and a real  protectiveness that screams self-worth. Sometimes we have to, after-all. Beautiful and popular women are still people, even when they're super talented.

Neolithic – Thots | Alternative Fruit
Neolithic
Thots

The Dublin based multi-talented music producer Neolithic is back with a second single. Writing, recording, and mastering his own material, Neo Morake has been a keen artist for over ten years. Having established his talent and presence over a winding road in his band Nobody's Heroes and as a local busker, this solo project is the latest branch on the tree of staves. Having grown up with The Matrix using his name, the archetypal character Neo has given the artist a serious shadow to fill. Both the fictional and the real life Neo want to corrupt a corrupt system, so let's go and find one and play this track in the process.

It begins with cheerful guitar strums that twang and vibrate in a rhythmic foray. Beats emerge and grow into a groove as Neolithic begins to rap with quick and competent lyrics. Melody rises gracefully and as the chorus breaks, a harmonisation begins to elevate the flow. More fast and intelligent lyrics roll from the microphone for another verse before that memorable and catchy chorus returns. A musical groove offers persistent chords and progression which stands as a platform for an artistic exploration of words.

Aimee Broom - Faces | Alternative Fruit
Aimee Broom
Faces

It's a real pleasure to feature the stunning Aimee Broom in Alternative Fruit again. The Essex based singer is working with Safo Music who also brought names like Pixie Lott and Sam Smith into the scene. Now she's amassed over 100,000 plays so far and the number is growing every day. Being young and talented, Aimee Broom represents the voice of her generation with true to life experiences making up her songs.

The music opens with a vocal effect that resonates with many big artists who have used a similar design. Aimee really can sing and she begins her song in clean vocals straight away. Her range extends a long-distance scale during the first verse and soon the music reaches a chorus. Drums pound in with a catchy rhythm, the lyrics bounce on the beat with well-written syllables. A groovy underscore of synthesiser provides a bedrock of chord and melody that emphasises and enriches Aimee's fantastic singing.

Ger – Love Tattoo | Alternative Fruit
Ger
Love Tattoo

Iconic, stand-out pop sensation Ger is ready with Love Tattoo. Raised in Cork by foster parents after his mother died young, Gerald O' Hanlon now lives in sunny Greece. Ger found solace in music and it enabled him to bond with people over the years. Forming a deep relationship with the feelings and imagery of the music industry, this 22-year-old bright light is following in the wake of many great names. After studying music at the University of Limerick, Ger released an iTunes national top ten hit no less than five times and received kudos from the magnificent Jessie J. A true cosmic alignment, the idea for Love Tattoo arrived at 4am while drunk at a party. With the notion in place, it didn't take long for the music to become reality thanks to Ger's skill and ability.

The music starts on a smooth melody accompanied by finger clicks and laid-back drumming. Ger begins to sing, his RnB honed vocal drizzles like rich and sharp coulée over ornately portioned beats. The song reaches out with vocal melody that branches from orchestral layers of synthesiser and drum. An amazing sonic range allows Ger to project his emotional dramatisation in leaping and twisting displays.

Blue Work
Rainbow Skin

Not letting the lockdown stop them, London electronic group Blue Work have been recording their latest album since February 2020. The self-titled record will soon be available on all streaming services. This new single is taken from the record and is already being enjoyed on radio and net all over the world.

Emotional vocals sing in human tones along a wavery synthesiser drone that hangs and drifts with spacious reverb. Rhythm rises, bass and drum tears a groove in the mix and sets an upbeat tone. The vocals continue in a story of words that muse and evoke meaning behind the lyrics. Synthesiser begins to build, new tones and strange voices build in abstract and strange combinations. Dancing drums settle with artistic chords and mutations of familiar sound.

Colin Clyne
Within Hindsight

Following on from his award winning single Where The Ships Go To Die in 2020, Scotland's prized singer/songwriter returns with a beautiful ballad. Esteemed folk rock fans all over the world have eagerly awaited this brand new release, which came out today on all major platforms. Written about regrets and moving on, this multi-faceted composition draws another line in the book of musical history and they all point to Scotland.

Piano and guitar work together to sparkle a pretty tune into reflective pools. Colin Clyne begins the song, a quietly strong voice casts a magical spell of perfect tone. A sense of Meatloaf rings through the production, a dreamy and masculine mix of emotions gradually gather pace and become a force to acknowledge. After a chorus, the music changes style and rises up with orchestration and rhythm. This settles back to the chorus which once again builds through its presence with a mix of harmony and progressive character.

David G Buckley
Boomshot

Born in Ireland and based in Italy, David G Buckley presents Boomshot. His pop-folk sound has already gained a serious following and attention from major media. Since his highly successful debut EP in 2013, called Different Shades of Nothing, Buckley has enjoyed a new life in Rome. Now returning to the airwaves with a batch of brand new material, Boomshot is the third original single of this year. Recorded across Rome and London with real Italian trumpets in the mix, it's a summertime classic already.

The music opens with a smashing acoustic guitar jive that palm-mutes and quick strums into a fantastic groove. The vocals begin with a swing of trumpet before a key change unravels the verse. Rhythmic lines curl and scoop along the climbing-frame of funk-step and catchy bars. The chorus returns from the intro and this time extends into an amazing run of harmonisation. In the mix you can hear a huge mix of melodies and chords that jangle together in a loose and fun party structure.

Jack Tiernan
Insecure

With a headline of success that follows him around after an amazing cover of IDK You Yet by Alexander 23, which amassed over a quarter of a million streams, Jack Tiernan now releases his next single. The 18 year-old prodigy has already gathered 30K followers and fans on TikTok alone. The previous original, called It's OK, was billed to support mental health charity. Now Jack Tiernan presents Insecure, which has been inspired by the sounds of Frank Ocean and Dermot Kennedy.

The music begins with an energetic acoustic guitar strum. Quick chords bounce across a poetic verse line which unravels with grace. Drums march in on a steady beat, the quick guitar filling the spaces as the slow sung vocals drizzle sauce over the solid and punchy rhythm. Meaningful words and introspective musings holler over the progression in emotional and catchy lines. The voice breaks over the powerful words and rhythmic sections provide another layer to the music.

Afterbliss – Remnants | Alternative Fruit
Afterbliss
Remnants

Melody and rock n roll make a great team, and Afterbliss show us how good it can be. Their third single has just been released, taking their Interpol and Muse inspired sound to the airwaves around the globe. Formed in 2019 after meeting in an online forum, a genuine shared taste in music compelled the band to put pen to paper. Since then they've accumulated tens of thousands of plays on Spotify and YouTube. This new track was mixed by Allan Kelly who also worked with Herbie Hancock and Kings Of Leon. The finishing touches were given by Fergal Davis who has also mastered songs by Muse and Sinead O'Connor.

It starts with a roar of synthesiser that builds with energy. Drums and guitar then pound in with a galloping beat. Synthesiser meets power chord progression as an exciting wave of uplifting and punchy energy rises from the verse. A chorus washes over like a break wave with speedboats and surfers. A dynamic edge progresses with the composition as quick-step drums and melodious guitars froth and bubble with harmony and rhythm.

Weekend Recovery – Yeah!? | Alternative Fruit
Weekend Recovery
Yeah!?

Once signed to a now defunct independent label before Covid and then left hanging as everything fell apart, this Leeds band stayed together and carried on making music. After being hailed as having a great sound and future by several radio stations, it was only a matter of time before they finally got their break. Luckily London's favourite rock band The Kut created their Criminal Records label just for this kind of group. Signing them and rescuing them from temporary obscurity, Weekend Recovery made immediate progress. With a string of successful releases now behind them, we can listen to Yeah!? And find out what it's all about.

It begins on a choppy electric guitar. The blues rhythm is amplified across a steady flow of growing drums. Bass and kick-drum work in unison to push the beat upward as the lyrics begin. Rock n roll style vocals chant memorable lines and an enchanting chorus. A fantastic groove and uplifting melody energise the composition as a catchy and digestible progression keeps the sound moving.
