Don't Let Him
Seventeen year old Maisie has been writing songs for herself since she was a little girl. Now as she grows up, her talent for music is finally being given the chance to shine. By this time, she's got herself a following and contacts in the industry, plus a new song recorded at Charthouse Music. This premier sound recording studio has seen many star names come and go, new and up and coming acts all seem to want to put their name on that coolest of registers. I can see why.
Chunky keystrokes on a distorted soundtrack creep in with a solid melody encased in warmth. Maisie sings beautifully, her song builds from angsty surge to dramatic symphony in the flutter of an eyelash. She rhymes words together like they were designed to, and brings an emotive story to life in the various masks of rhythm, pitch, and composition. The music is clever, the various parts bring in differing energies which meet gracefully in a divine centre.
